Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

Zeyti ("we", "our", or "us") is built around one idea: your restriction profile is yours. This page explains exactly what data we collect and why.

What Stays On Your Device

Your restriction profile (allergies, diet, beliefs, custom keywords, severity levels) and your scan history are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account. We do not have accounts, and this data never reaches our servers.

Barcode Lookups

When you scan a barcode, Zeyti sends the barcode number to Open Food Facts, an open database, to retrieve the product's ingredient list. No part of your restriction profile is sent with that request.

Label Scans

When you scan an ingredient label, text recognition runs on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The photo and recognized text are not sent to our servers.

Analytics And Crash Reports

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage and crash data, for example which features are used or where the app crashed. This data cannot identify you personally and does not include your restriction profile or scan history.

Remote Configuration

We use Firebase Remote Config to adjust app behavior, such as free-tier limits, without shipping an update. This does not involve any personal data.

Curated Reference Data

Zeyti reads a small, curated list of halal and kosher reference data from Firebase Firestore. This is a one-way, read-only lookup; nothing about you or your device is written to it.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information.

Third-Party Services

Children's Privacy

Zeyti is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
